With Chiefs’ general manager Brett Veach, head coach Andy Reid and all of their staffs in attendance, the indoor field was home to 26 area NFL hopefuls going through workouts led by the Chiefs’ coaching staff as part of their local Pro Day.
These are players who either grew up in the Kansas City metro area or went to college in the area, and who were invited by the Chiefs to come and work out.
“Dave has had the opportunity to work with our team on both sides of the football, on the field and in the classroom,” Reid said. “His leadership qualities have entrusted me to promote him to Assistant Head Coach.”
Chiefs coach Andy Reid has promoted special teams coach Dave Toub to assistant head coach, the club announced Friday.
Toub, 55, will retain his special teams duties.

According to Mike Jurecki, this is the first visit since the start of free agency Williams has had. Starting the final six games of the season for Arizona, he rushed for a respectable 426 yards after David Johnson and Adrian Peterson both suffered injuries that ended their season.
Jenkins failed to make a catch for the 49ers before he was traded to the Chiefs. He caught just 17 passes over the next two seasons for Kansas City and is now out of the league.
