Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach is scheduled to speak to the media Friday morning at 11:30 a.m. Arrowhead Time. Veach went “unranked” in NFL.com’s general manager power rankings released Wednesday.
Veach’s Friday press conference is significant because it is the final time we’ll hear from him before the NFL Draft, his first as Chiefs general manager.
Veach’s tenure as GM could be fairly described as aggressive, as in his tenure we have seen the Chiefs’ acquisition of former top draft picks like linebacker Reggie Ragland and offensive lineman/wide receiver Cameron Erving, the trading of stars like quarterback Alex Smith and cornerback Marcus Peters and the free-agent-splash signing of WR Sammy Watkins.
He has also signed every available running back in the league.
If I’m guessing, if Veach likes a particular player in the NFL Draft and he is available for the right price to trade up, he won’t flinch. I could also see him, in the fashion of his mentor, John Dorsey, trading back if he isn’t in love with what’s available at the time of the Chiefs’ pick.
One thing we like to do at Arrowhead Pride is pay special attention to the pulse of the fan base, and you have made it abundantly clear you have concerns about the defense, something I’m sure Veach will address Friday morning.
If you were at Friday morning’s press conference, what would you ask the Chiefs general manager?
