The Kansas City Chiefs’ running back room is getting awfully crowded.
The team signed running back Kerwynn Williams Sunday, as first reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Former #AZCardinals RB Kerwynn Williams is signing a 1-year deal with the #Chiefs, source said. He had multiple options, but liked the fresh start KC represented.

Williams, 26, first entered the league as a seventh-round draft pick with the Indianapolis Colts but spent the last four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.
The 5-foot-8, 198-pound running back has compiled 218 rush attempts for 971 yards and four touchdowns over the course of his career. Williams has one career game of 100 yards or more, and it came against the Kansas City Chiefs back in December of 2014.
Williams’ best season output was 2017, when he had 426 yards with Arizona.
How many running backs the Chiefs wind up keeping is becoming just as interesting as the names in it. Williams will be among Kareem Hunt, Charcandrick West, Spencer Ware, Akeem Hunt and Damien Williams all fighting for roster spots in August.
