PODCAST: Chiefs’ local draft prospects and free agency

NCAA Football: West Virginia at Kansas State Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

NFL free agency is to the draft as Thanksgiving is to Christmas. It’s the first significant date on the calendar that kicks of a season.

The big free agency wave has come and gone, and there are no more significant events on the NFL calendar between us and the draft. I couldn’t be more excited for the barrage of NFL draft talk we’ll start seeing from every corner of the NFL universe. We’re about to be fully immersed into Draftmas season.

The Chiefs made significant moves on both sides of the football. Both wide receiver Sammy Watkins and linebacker Anthony Hitchens allow the Chiefs more flexibility on draft weekend. Two holes have been filled, but there’s plenty more to look at.

This week’s episode of the AP Chiefs Draft Show talks in depth about local prospects. We already talked about Dorance Armstrong from Kansas previously, but there are still players from Kansas State, Missouri, Fort Hays State and one formerly from Olathe South that deserves to be discussed.

Several local prospects were added this week on the show to the Draftmas List. A few we discussed didn’t. Who made it? Check out this week’s episode to find out.

You can listen on the player below, on iTunes or on Blog Talk Radio. We hope to have the show on Google Play soon.
