Kansas City Chiefs GM Brett Veach sounded like he wanted a veteran to back up Patrick Mahomes and the first two backup quarterback options leaked are indeed experienced veterans.
The backup QB market should start to reveal itself in coming days. I’m told Chad Henne, for instance, is visiting Tennessee today — and will travel to Kansas City this evening for his second visit. Miami also in that mix.

KC also an option for Matt Moore, another available QB.
Henne, 32, entered the league in 2008 with Miami where he played for four years. He’s been with the Jaguars since. He hasn’t been a regular starter since 2013.
Moore, 33, also has previous experience with the Dolphins. He’s also thrown more than 200 passes in the past two seasons so in recent experience he gets the nod.
It’s possible we get some news soon. “There were many calls out there and actually today just before I got here we had a lot of dialogue and I suspect something would get done soon here,” Chiefs GM Brett Veach said on Wednesday.
I would be fine with either backup option. They fit the bill as an experienced veteran. Between the two, I would go with Moore.
