Andy Reid, Brett Veach will have an easy out when media asks about Marcus Peters trade

Did you have anything you wanted to ask Andy Reid right now? Because the media is going to have their shot to question him this week. Reid and Chiefs GM Brett Veach are both scheduled to speak to the media from the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this week.

Reid is scheduled to speak at 2:15 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) on Wednesday and Veach is scheduled for 10 a.m. (Arrowhead Time) on Thursday.

I saw that they would be having a press conference and I got excited thinking we would finally hear the reasoning behind these recent moves like the trade of Alex Smith and Marcus Peters.

The only problem is that both Reid and Veach have an easy out to not talk about it: it’s not official yet. The trade can’t officially be consummated until free agency begins on March 14. That means Reid and Veach can both say league rules say they can’t talk about it so they won’t. They’ll be able to shut down all the interesting questions.

That doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear what they have to say. I do. But they’re not going to be talking about the trades.
