Report: Chiefs will trade Marcus Peters to Rams

NFL: Miami Dolphins at Kansas City Chiefs Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Chiefs will trade cornerback Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The word is that the Chiefs will receive a “package of draft picks” in exchange for Peters, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star is hearing that there are some unhappy Chiefs in the locker room.

Paylor also reported that the Chiefs and Rams have been working on the trade for some time.

Rapoport noted that the Los Angeles Rams were the only real team interested in trading for Peters.

For a player of Peters’ talent, I believe this information is somewhat telling. It sounds like there was only one team in the league willing to make the move, which means San Francisco and Cleveland (John Dorsey, who drafted Peters) could not have been crazy about what they had heard.

More here as it develops.
