UPDATE: 2:35 p.m. Arrowhead Time
The Chiefs have officially brought back Charcandrick West, per ESPN’s Field Yates.
The Chiefs have officially re-signed RB Charcandrick West, per source. He's got a chance to serve as a backup to Spencer Ware, who started in Week 13 against the Raiders.

As you probably know, the Kansas City Chiefs released running back Kareem Hunt on Friday afternoon.
On Sunday, there were reports that the Chiefs would meet with former Denver Broncos (and Carolina Panthers) running back C.J. Anderson, and also with former Chiefs running back Charcandrick West.
On Monday, Ian Rapoport — who was one of those who reported the Chiefs’ interest in both players on Sunday — reported that the Chiefs are “expected” to sign West.
The #Chiefs are expected to sign former RB Charcandrick West, sources say. He knows the playbook and will fit right in, filling the void created on the roster by Kareem Hunt. My understanding is FA RB CJ Anderson had a really good workout and is ready if needed.

Rapoport’s tweet suggests that the Chiefs did, in fact, meet with Anderson, but that they would now prefer to have West instead of Anderson, since West knows the playbook and will fit in.
West spent four seasons with the Chiefs, and was cut before the end of training camp. He was a popular player among Chiefs fans, and was widely seen as a well-respected presence in the Chiefs locker room.
