UPDATE: Tuesday, 1:41 p.m. (Arrowhead Time)
Terez Paylor of Yahoo! Sports reports Eric Berry intends to practice this week.
Chiefs safety Eric Berry reported to the team’s facility today with the intent to practice this week, per sources. Still TBD as to whether he will play Sunday vs. Oakland, though.

Berry reporting to the facility isn’t all that new—we have seen him around the building almost every week. But the intent for Berry to practice is very new. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid will address the media once again on Wednesday at 11:40 Arrowhead Time.
From Monday: Despite various reports, Chiefs maintain outlook on Eric Berry Monday
We once again saw (cautious) reports emerge this past weekend regarding the return of Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry, who hasn’t practiced since training camp in mid-August due to a “sore heel.”
Since then, the common phrase used by team personnel and trainers when it comes to Berry’s status has been “literally day to day.” NFL Network reports, which were never confirmed (nor denied) said in late September that Berry has been dealing with something called a Haglund’s deformity, which we explained in detail here.
Head coach Andy Reid, despite those new reports, maintained the team’s cautious approach in a conference call with the local Kansas City media on Monday.
Coach Reid said he'll talk to Eric Berry when he gets to the building tomorrow about how he's feeling. Doesn't indicate if anything has changed.

Reid was not clear on what to expect from the nine-year Chiefs safety as he attempts to return from more than a year out of game action.
“I think we’ll just take that day by day and just see how he does,” Reid explained. “I don’t have an expectation either way on that. I wouldn’t know how to gauge that right now. I know he is feeling better—he’s gotten a little bit better every week. It’s not one of those things that heals overnight. That’s not how that works, so I think we just start him off slow.
“Let’s see what he can do when that thing feels right, whether it’s this week, next week, whenever. Again, there’s no expectation there.”
The Chiefs begin practicing in preparation for the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday. Judging from the sound of Reid, it appears that whether Berry returns to the field is still very much up in the air.
