Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has his first Sports Illustrated cover.
Mahomes will appear on the cover of the publication’s FUTURE issue, which is fitting, as Mahomes is in the mix for NFL Most Valuable Player just 10 games into the second year of his career.

The magazine’s corresponding article, “Andy Reid Is Creating Football’s Future, and Patrick Mahomes Is Living It,” is nothing short of excellent. SI writer Jenny Vrentas documented how Andy Reid and Mahomes are reshaping NFL offenses.
“It’s not far-fetched to say that Reid has spent much of the last decade preparing for Mahomes’s arrival,” Vrentas writes. “The marriage of QB and coach is such a perfect union, bubbling in offensive fertility, that Washington State coach Mike Leach, himself well-versed in the art of scoring points, muses, ‘There’s times you wonder if [their pairing] should even be legal.’”
The article is a must-read—worth your time.
