Some notes
- Dee Ford (groin) and Sammy Watkins (hamstring) both left Monday night’s game against the Denver Broncos early, so it was a pleasant surprise to see both players practicing on Wednesday.
- It has now been 53 days since safety Eric Berry practiced or played. Head coach Andy Reid on Berry Wednesday: “We’re literally just taking it day by day. He’s going through the rehab and doing that and doing actually better. Every day he’s been going here, he’s getting a little bit better. Let’s just see how it goes and one thing you know about Eric, you have no questions that he wants to be there and go. He’s trying everything he can to get himself out there. We’ll just take it day by day and keep doing that. We’ve got great communication with him and we know his desire to be there. We want him to be smart. We want to be smart with it. It’s a long season.”
- It’s probably smart to take Wednesday’s report on the practice cautiously, it being a 10-10-10 style practice (What’s that?) in which the Chiefs did not even wear helmets. From our in-house injury expert, Aaron Borgmann, via his official Twitter account: “Tough to gauge injured players status from this work. Will need to await more details as week ramps up from short turn. Hopefully a good sign of progress that most practiced.”
- Chiefs are fortunate that the Jaguars have already ruled out two players, running back Leonard Fournette and cornerback DJ Hayden, for Sunday.
