There’s an old adage that quarterbacks make their money on third down and in the red zone. These are two critical areas of the field where defenses get more complex and speed in your decision making is required.

One of the positive indicators in Patrick Mahomes’ performance to date has been the consistency in these areas. It’s not normal for young quarterbacks to be successful.

The Bengals drew up a well designed and executed look to try and confuse Mahomes on a third-and-9 near the red zone. It didn’t work, and we broke it down in this week’s edition of 45 Seconds.
