UPDATE: This is confirmed by the NFL. Chiefs and Rams in Mexico City next season. This is NOT one of the Chiefs home games. It is a road game for the Chiefs. (Find their 2018 opponents here)
“We are thrilled to be a part of the NFL’s international initiatives once again, and we are excited to face the Rams at historic Estadio Azteca this fall,” Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said in a press release. “The support for the NFL in Mexico has grown significantly since our initial trip in 1996. We look forward to returning to Mexico and connecting with a new generation of fans this season.”

Can anyone here read Spanish? I saw this report out of Mexico and I could make out a couple of words: Rams and Chiefs.
I took Latin in high school (yes, Latin) so I don’t know my Spanish but friends of the site have told us that the report says the Chiefs are expected to play the Rams in Mexico City next season. The NFL tells the KC Star nothing is official yet.
This comes from reporter Guillermo Schutz. There is no official word from the Chiefs. The NFL schedule usually comes out in April.
This would be a Rams home game, not a Chiefs home game. So the Chiefs aren’t giving anything up. They’re scheduled to play at the Rams next season. Some fans on Twitter were saying they had planned to go to LA for the game ... but you can always go to the Chargers game in LA now!
The Raiders and Patriots played there last season if you’ll recall. Here’s a brief history of Mexico City games.
This would be a cool location. It’s not flying to London so you don’t have the time difference which is a positive. Most importantly, it’s not giving away a home game.
