The Kansas City Chiefs list of 2018 NFL free agents has a few notable names, including WR Albert Wilson. After seeing him go for 150 yards against the Broncos last week and seeing this offense without him, Wilson’s return is more of a priority. I don’t know if the Chiefs will be able to bring him back but he would be a nice addition to a receiver corps that needs the experience.
C Zach Fulton is the other name that jumps out to me. He provides so much value as a backup center and even starting guard. The Chiefs would’ve been in trouble this year without him when Mitch Morse went down. I didn’t realize how much of a luxury he is until he was needed. Hopefully the Chiefs can bring him back or identify another jack-of-all-trades lineman like him.
Finally, P Dustin Colquitt’s name jumps out. The Chiefs made him the NFL’s highest paid punter back in 2013 so that contract is just now running out. I want to say I expect the Chiefs to bring Colquitt back but I also look at how seemingly easy it was for them to replace Cairo Santos with Harrison Butker. This could also be affected by whether Chiefs special teams coach Dave Toub gets a head coaching job this year.
Those are the names that jump out to me the most. There are others — like FB Anthony Sherman, LB Kevin Pierre-Louis and DE Jarvis Jenkins — who I would have interest in bringing back but maybe not at the level of the others mentioned above.
