Uh-oh? The Kansas City Chiefs say safety Ron Parker is questionable for the season opener in New England with an ankle injury. I didn’t even know he had an injury until he popped up on the injury report this week as he was limited in practice.
Update: Looks like he traveled to New England, which is a good sign
I will say that it’s a good sign he was limited in practice and not out. Obvious, right? I’m just saying that there are a lot of players who can be limited during the week, like Travis Kelce, who will play in this game. I haven’t gotten the sense that Parker is in serious danger of missing this game.
In another game this year I may not sweat the potential loss of Parker that much. Not that he’s not a good player - oh, he is - but that the Chiefs are already missing cornerback Steven Nelson in this game.
The Chiefs have played Parker in the slot before so I wondered if they would do that in this game with Nelson out. Already being short on defensive back, the Chiefs really can’t afford to be without Parker in this game. Here’s to hoping they won’t be.
Parker is the only notable player on the injury report. Guard Parker Ehinger and linebacker Reggie Ragland are doubtful but we didn’t expect them to play anyway.
