NFL waiver wire updates: Chiefs don’t claim anyone, Justin March to the Dolphins

One KC Chiefs roster cut was claimed by another team with the Dolphins getting LB Justin March-Lilliard off the waiver wire. The Chiefs didn’t claim anyone.

Good for March-Lilliard who is going to Miami. He’s the type of guy that could be in the league for a while because he’s a smart, instinctive player. The Dolphins claiming him means he will join their 53-man roster so he’s going to get a shot there.

The Chiefs could have tried to claim someone off of waivers but they were picking 27th on the waiver wire so it seemed unlikely they would get anyone. I’m not sure if they tried to. They have a deep roster anyway so I’m not sure if there’s anyone out there that would have cracked their 53-man roster.

Old friend Chris Ballard is now the GM of the Colts and they’re pulling off their own little 2013 Chiefs waiver wire weekend with five claims.

A few interesting waiver wire claims I saw:

  • RB Matt Jones to the Colts
  • QB Brad Kaaya to the Panthers
  • WR Kasen Williams to the Browns
  • CB Pierre-Desir to the Colts
  • TE James O’Shaughnessy to the Jaguars
  • OT Michael Schofield to the Chargers
