Since then, Veach said they’ve been stacking and ranking a big board at the Chiefs’ facility with the names of players they believed to be on each team’s roster bubble, and many of those players were indeed released Saturday.

“This whole time, we’ve had kind of a running list of what we thought would be out there,” Veach said. “There’s going to be more names we have to work through tonight.”

“We’re excited about the roster," Veach said. “We think we have a lot of talent. We think the roster we’ve been able to compile the last four years is definitely good enough to get to where we want to go, for sure. ... We’re certainly excited about this team."

Under the rules of the PUP, Hali will be given a five-week window to practice after sitting out the first six games. The Chiefs will then have a three-week space to activate the defender to the 53-man roster. If either of those deadlines pass, Hali would stick on the PUP for the rest of the season.
