Three weeks in and NFL coaches are praising KC Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt’s abilities. And why wouldn’t you? Hunt has more rushing yards than 26 NFL teams.
The Redskins are coming to town this weekend and in a conference call with the KC media Washington coach Jay Gruden indicated they are well aware of who Kareem Hunt is.
Gruden on Hunt: "He’s a danger out of backfield. He’s a guy that you have circled going into the game."

On a team with Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, Hunt is the one you’re circling. Putting it in that context really makes you appreciate what he’s done in just a few weeks. He was even better than advertised at making people miss, which he excelled in at Toledo.
Gruden on Hunt's contact balance: "That’s something you can’t coach. You don’t expect a rookie to come in here & do what he’s doing"

That’s a big compliment because you don’t expect a rookie to do this. The key is keeping it up. He won’t be getting 172 yards every week but Andy Reid will give him every opportunity to be productive. Reid was even asked this week about if they’re using Hunt too much. I did wonder about some of those hits he took in the Chargers game, especially his shoulder when trucking that Chargers safety up the middle. That’s something to monitor going forward.
