Arrowheadlines: Who is the better 3-0 team, the Chiefs or Falcons?

Kansas City Chiefs put Cairo Santos on IR, sign rookie Harrison Butker | ESPN

Butker was the Panthers' seventh-round draft pick from Georgia Tech. He made both of his field goal attempts in the preseason, each from beyond 40 yards. He was also 4-for-4 on extra points.

A rookie kicker may not be best option for a team with Super Bowl dreams | ESPN

Santos doesn’t have great range, a point mentioned by special-teams coordinator Dave Toub over the summer. But from inside 50 yards, Santos is as close to money as any kicker the Chiefs have had. His career field goal percentage of 84.8 is the best in Chiefs history.

KC Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers Q&A, 9/24/2017 | The Kansas City Star

Many times, when Kelce was attached to the line of scrimmage with his hand in the dirt, they placed outside linebacker Melvin Ingram head-up on him to beat him up a bit. There were also times when the Chargers’ underneath defenders ducked under Kelce’s routes and sagged toward him to discourage throws. NFL teams can take away anyone if they truly put their mind to it. Now, could Andy Reid have dialed up some things to get Kelce the ball, regardless? Sure. He could have called more screens, or used the Kelce “wildcat” package, or called more plays where Kelce would have been the first option. But it’s hard to look at the tape and come away with any sort of justification for Kelce’s lack of targets, other than the Chargers did some things to take him away, and the Chiefs decided to go to other players.

Rookie kicker Harrison Butker gets opportunity in Cairo Santo's absence | Chiefs Digest

Butker, a seventh-round draft pick from Georgia Tech by the Carolina Panthers, nearly unseated veteran Graham Gano during a pitched training camp battle. Butker demonstrated a big leg, average 64.5 yards on kickoffs with seven touchbacks in 11 preseason kicks. Opponents averaged just 26 yards on kickoff returns against him.

Pete Prisco's NFL Week 4 Picks: Falcons, Chiefs go to 4-0, Vikings dump Lions

The Chiefs are riding high as one of the two remaining undefeated teams, while Washington was impressive beating Oakland Sunday night. This will be a real challenge for the Redskins going to Arrowhead and I think the Chiefs defense will get the best of Kirk Cousins. Chiefs stay undefeated.

Pick: Chiefs 26, Redskins 17

Falcons-Chiefs tale of the tape: Who is the best 3-0 team in the NFL?

The Chiefs have gained more yards (1,192 to 1,164) and more yards per play (7.1 to 6.5) than the Falcons. They have scored more points (93 to 87) and more points per drive (2.74 to 2.58). And they have done so while facing what most would consider to be considerably tougher defenses. Pro-Football-Reference's Expected Points Added metric says that the Kansas City offense has been approximately a touchdown more valuable than the Atlanta offense through three weeks.
