Chiefs come out of Chargers game with a few injuries

We don’t know the details of any of these injuries yet but Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced three injuries after the Chiefs 24-10 win over the Chargers on Sunday.

LB Dee Ford: Hip spasms

WR De’Anthony Thomas: Shoulder strain

LB Kevin Pierre-Louis: Groin strain

Ford came out sometime during the game and was replaced by Frank Zombo, who got a pass interference penalty. LB Justin Houston also missed a few plays early on in the game. The Chiefs are really being tested on their pass rush depth. As long as Houston performs, they should be OK.

I’m not sure exactly when DAT was hurt but he did have a catch during the game and took a pretty good hit. I remember thinking, Dave Toub is right. DAT is pretty tough.

As for KPL, Reid said that he strained his groin late in the game. He was in there on defense for part of this game in place of Derrick Johnson. If he’s the guy that’s giving DJ a breather — DJ usually plays every snap so this breather could be new - then it’s important he’s healthy.

Reid will talk to the media again today so we’ll see if we get any updates then.
