This Idiots "Favorite Chiefs List"

Disclaimer. I didn't start watching football until the late 90's. I'm only choosing players I personally remember watching play.

10. Dante Hall

Aka. The X-Factor or The Human Joy Stick. Hall was a 2x Pro Bowler,1x All-Pro, and the best returner of punts and kicks ever! Move over Devin Hester I don't care about the stats. Hall had a way of making a fool of me. I would be yelling angrily at him through the screen and then he would take it to the house. The man was exciting to watch! It is pretty insane that the Chief's had Dante Hall and have Tyrek Hill!!!

9. Tyrek Hill

Speed, Speed, and Speed!!!! My wife can't seem to remember the names of football players so I began to call Hill "That Fast Little Bastard". It stuck! She would walk in and ask how the Chief's scored and I'd just say,"It was that fast little bastard, again!" Seriously, that kind of speed is exhilarating to watch. It's the best part of game day just trying to guess how he will score.

8. Andre Rison

Rison was the first Chief's player to really make offense exciting for me. He was a 5x Pro Bowler and a 1x All-Pro. The long touchdowns and Spiderman celebrations will always save him a place in my top 10. I can still remember sitting on my Grandma's couch practicing my Spiderman touchdown celebrations.

7. Will Shields

I feel like I'm really doing an injustice putting him 7th but that is how it shook out. Shields had a 14 year career spent entirely with the Chiefs. He was also a 12x Pro Bowler and a 2x All-pro. All I can say is best pulling guard to ever put on a Chief's uniform and maybe any uniform. He deserved to wear his own bumper sticker on that fat a$$ saying something like "Be Truckin You".

6. Tony Gonzalez

I think he is the only reason my wife let me watch pregame last year. She has no idea who he is just thinks he is cute and vegan. Tony G. was a 14x Pro Bowler, 6x All-Pro, and a Chiefs legend. When I think of Tony G. I remember his butt knocking pass defenders back. Also his ability to leap up and those hands that never seemed to drop a pass.

5. Derrick Thomas

Thomas was a 9x Pro bowler, 2x All-Pro, and is enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The only reason he falls to fifth on my list is that I don't remember him all that well. I can watch highlights of Thomas but I don't think I get the same appreciation as watching the game situations live. I just know I still see Derrick Thomas's jersey in my town.

4. Justin Houston

This man is scary. Look into those eyes. Houston is a 4x Pro Bowler and 1x All-Pro with a 22 sack season on his Chief's resume. Every time I watch him I gain more appreciation for him. I can't help but think of a big cat that is stalking its prey. It moves surprisingly quick, graceful, but its the power that leaves you in awe!

3. Jared Allen

Smile on my face! A 5x Pro Bowler and 4x All-Pro. Allen was the only reason I looked forward to games in the 2007 season. I wanted to see if a defensive end could single handedly win a game by himself! The steer wrestling signature sack celebration didn't hurt either!

2. Priest Holmes

What can I say? He was underrated from college through his first game with the Chiefs. He lost his starting tailback spot at The University of Texas to Ricky Williams. He lost his starting job with the Baltimore Ravens to Jamal Lewisjust in time to see the Ravens win a Super Bowl. The Priest ended up being a 3x Pro Bowler and a 3x All-Pro all with the Chiefs. I just remember those sweep plays around the corner. That great offensive line pulling and blocking for him. The way he seemed to glide toward the side line looking like he was going to get no gain. Then he would dart between blockers reappearing 5 yards down field busting it for 20 or 30 yards. You just knew that with the offensive line and Tony Richardson smashing linebackers no one was stopping Priest at the goal line.

1. Willie Roaf

Roaf only played four seasons in a Chief's uniform but he changed the way I looked at the game. He was an 11x Pro Bowler and 3x All-Pro. I just remember this top heavy guy who looked like he could barely hobble to the line each play. Then wham those arms came out knocking the crap out of the defensive player and those quick cat like feet. No offensive tackle will ever be as good as Roaf in my eyes.

Honorable Mentions: Jamal Charles, Eric Berry, Tamba Hali,, Derrick Johnson, Eddie Kennison, Travis Kelce, Ty Law, Tony "The Catch" Moeaki. Would love to hear from the rest of Chief's Nation on your favorite players.

I got all my statistics from Pro Football Reference.
