Chiefs cut RB Devine Redding, another practice squad candidate

Many of you got your first extended look at RB Devine Redding on Thursday night when he had 21 carries for 59 yards in the Chiefs preseason finale. That could have been yoru last as the Chiefs have now cut him, according to the Star’s Terez Paylor.

Not a shock by any means but there was a small part of me that wondered if he could make it after Spencer Ware’s season-ending injury. I bet he’s going to the practice squad where the Chiefs can call him up if they have an injury to one of their existing backs (Kareem Hunt, CJ Spiller or Charcandrick West, assuming they all make it).

The Chiefs should also be on the eye out for backs cut by other teams. Their top back, Kareem Hunt, has no NFL experience and CJ Spiller is reaching that age where you worry about injuries. They very well could need another back.
