Good news on Kansas City Chiefs C Mitch Morse. Or at least not awful news. The Chiefs center is expected to miss just a few weeks after what he suffered what the Chiefs called a foot sprain in Sunday’s win over the Eagles. He will not need surgery.
Good news for #Chiefs standout C Mitch Morse, following an MRI and CT scan: No surgery necessary on his foot sprain. Just out a few weeks.

The KC Star’s Terez Paylor is also reporting the news. They both used “a few weeks” when talking about how long he’ll be out. The Chiefs will look to Zach Fulton to replace him. I don’t know how many teams have a backup center option they like but Fulton is more than capable of handling a multi-week stretch at center. If he goes down, I assume Cam Erving, who played some center in Cleveland, would be up next. The Chiefs also have Parker Ehinger to step into Fulton’s backup guard duties. Depth on depth on the o-line. The Chiefs should be OK.
No game in the NFL is easy but the Chiefs schedule does lighten up a little over the next three weeks with games at the 0-2 Chargers, 1-1 Redskins and 1-1 Texans. The Chiefs are favored against the Chargers and probably will be against Washington and maybe in Houston on Sunday night.
