What does taking offers for Alex Smith mean for Kansas City Chiefs | ESPN

Q: Can the Chiefs change their minds and stick with Smith as their quarterback next season?

A: Of course. Smith is going to make the decision more difficult if he keeps playing the way he has over the first two games. He’s on course for 40 touchdown passes and more than 4,800 yards. Those totals would easily surpass his career bests. But the Chiefs' decision ultimately will be more about Mahomes than Smith. If the Chiefs feel early next year that Mahomes is ready to be a starting quarterback, they’ll have a difficult time resisting the urge to put him in their lineup.

2017 Forbes NFL team valuations | The Kansas City Star

On Monday, Forbes released its annual valuations of NFL teams, and the Chiefs’ value climbed to $2.1 billion. That’s an increase of 37 percent from 2015 ($1.53 billion) and 12 percent over the 2016 value ($1.88 billion).

The Chiefs are the 24th most valuable team in the NFL, Forbes says. Last year, the Chiefs were ranked No. 26, but they have jumped over the Jaguars and Titans. Forbes said the Chiefs have revenues of $365 million and an operating income of $60 million.

Chiefs Fans are the Best | 610 Sports Radio

Everyone in Kansas City knows there are no better fans in the NFL than Chiefs fans. It's always good to hear from the opponent. On Sunday an Eagles fan, who attended his first NFL game ever wrote a letter on reddit praising our town's fans.

Wentz finished with 333 yards and two touchdowns passing, despite facing relentless pressure all afternoon. The spunky quarterback also led the Eagles with 55 yards rushing.

'He's going to be one of the great ones in the league,' Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston said. 'He's very mobile, very calm in the pocket. It's tough to rush a guy like that that's real mobile in the pocket, that can spin moves and get out, get out of trouble.'

How Chris Jones dominated the Eagles | Arrowhead Pride

When I’d talk to people about Chris Jones, fans of other teams who hadn’t seen him much (and even some Chiefs fans) would roll their eyes and say something close to “the guy had two sacks all season, don’t tell me he’s an impact player.” Unfortunately, people who make such generalizations rarely care to hear about non-box-score impact and defensive line intricacies, and so the conversation often ended there.

Apparently Chris Jones was not all right with being left out of the national conversation.

Film Review: Patriots stole a big play from the Kansas City Chiefs | Pats Pulpit

The Chiefs used Tyreek Hill in motion to force the Patriots to make multiple adjustments. Eric Rowe dropped to free safety and Duron Harmon had to run to the line of scrimmage to cover Hill. The Chiefs overloaded the same side of the field with Hill, Travis Kelce, and Kareem Hunt, forcing the linebackers and safeties to communicate who was responsible for covering which player. Hunt easily beat his coverage- Marsh- who was still learning the Patriots defense.

In the Patriots version, they used Dion Lewis to muddle the Saints defensive responsibilities. Tom Brady put Lewis in the near slot and no Saints defender followed and the Patriots could have easily made a quick play for a gain if Lewis ran an out route.

KC Chiefs have 11-game AFC West winning streak | The Kansas City Star

Since falling to the Denver Broncos in a prime-time game at Arrowhead Stadium — remember the Jamaal Charles fumble returned for a game-winning touchdown by Bradley Roby with 27 seconds remaining? — the Chiefs have won 11 straight against AFC West opponents: the Chargers, Broncos and Oakland Raiders. The run is part of a streak in which the Chiefs have won 24 of their last 28 regular-season games.

Chiefs' Reid beats Eagles' Pederson in matchup of friends | AP

"It's tough, especially for Coach Pederson," Eagles tight end Zach Ertz said, "knowing how much he wanted to come in here and win this one."

With Travis Kelce, it's the best of times and the worst of times | ESPN

“To go airborne like that, to find a way to get into the end zone I thought was crazy," he said. “Didn’t necessarily think he was going to get in. Just a heck of a play. A lot of will with a heck of a lot of talent."

In typical Kelce fashion, he risked a penalty by flapping his arms afterward, Eagles-style. He might have saved himself by veering away from the Philadelphia sideline, showing unforeseen discipline in doing so.

The Chiefs are good enough to give Andy Reid the Super Bowl he deserves | SBNation.com

In two games against two good opponents this season — the Eagles finished last season fifth in DVOA, the Patriots were first and, like, won a Super Bowl — the Chiefs have scored 69 points and given up 47, rushed for 331 yards, passed for 519, and generally look like an enhanced version of the team we’ve come to know. A rising tide lifts all boats — or in this case, a rejuvenated Alex Smith makes the Chiefs a helluva lot harder to deal with. He has been spectacular through two games, throwing for 619 yards at 9.8 yards per attempt and a 134 passer rating.
