We are getting closer to the Big Red Bowl where the Kansas City Chiefs’ Andy Reid will meet his former assistant Doug Pederson and his former team the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams are 1-0 and looking to make it 2-0. Reid hopes his record of 8-3 against his former assistants can move to 9-3.
Key stat: Reid is 8-3 against his former assistants
The game can be viewed on FOX and we have the online streaming and radio options listed here along with the odds, announcers and a full listing of the Chiefs 2017 schedule.
The Chiefs enter the game with a ton of momentum after beating the New England Patriots in the NFL season opener. The Chiefs are suddenly Super Bowl contenders (yes, really) so the expectations have been ratcheted up a little.
More: How the Chiefs fare after a signature win
The Chiefs key advantages in this game come from the Eagles secondary missing their top corner, Ronald Darby. The Chiefs can target Tyreek Hill in the passing game after he busted off 133 receiving yards in the opener. The Chiefs can also get Travis Kelce going after the Patriots were able to keep him pretty quiet. Kelce will also have the added motivation of playing his brother’s team. Jason Kelce is a center on Philadelphia.
The Eagles advantages comes potentially in their front seven. While the Chiefs offensive line is looking good, the Eagles have a terrific front seven that will tell the Chiefs how good their offensive line really is. The Eagles have a good tight in Zach Ertz who could have a big day with the Chiefs adjusting after losing Eric Berry.
My prediction is a 23-16 Chiefs win. Find more picks at SB Nation where everyone is picking the Chiefs to beat the Eagles.
