Our Madden sim was wrong last week in picking New England over Kansas City. They could be wrong again in this week’s simulation, which you can watch in the player above (or click here).
Eagles 31, Chiefs 17
The Philadelphia Eagles, led by 212 yards and a touchdown from running back LeGarrette Blount, stunned the Kansas City Chiefs in their home opener at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Eagles built up a 17-10 lead by half and in the third quarter, continued to pour it on with scores from Darren Sproles and Blount. When the game became 31-10 in the favor of the Eagles, head coach Andy Reid opted to give Patrick Mahomes a shot and he scored on his first possession.
After both teams missed field goals, Reid, in a rather peculiar move, took Mahomes out in favor of starter Alex Smith, who could never muster up enough with the offense to keep the Chiefs in it.
Former offensive coordinator Doug Pederson’s Eagles held on for the two-score win.
