NFL picks Week 2: Patriots-Saints, Cowboys-Broncos among most compelling games

As it turns out, I am horrible at making weekly NFL picks. I made mine for Week 1 and got just seven of the 15 games right. Not good! The best pickers from SB Nation had 10 games right. I have some work to do.

This week, all of SB Nation’s experts are picking the Chiefs to beat the Eagles, as they should. The Chiefs are 4.5-point favorites over the Eagles and this is the home opener. The Chiefs have all the momentum on their side.

The one worry I have is making too much of last week’s game and that carrying over. Andy Reid called the first game of the season one of the most overrated games because it gets so much publicity. While that’s true, it’s still one of the biggest wins of the season for any team.

Find the odds for each game here.

NFL Week 1 picks

Texans vs. Bengals: Bengals

This game is going to be very ugly.

Browns vs. Ravens: Ravens

I think DeShone Kizer is the answer. He’ll stick around for a few years, which is more than you can say for most Browns QBs.

Bills vs. Panthers: Panthers

The Panthers defense is strong. They’ll take care of business.

Cardinals vs. Colts: Cardinals

The Colts are so bad. I can’t believe there’s not more chatter about how bad they are. Chris Ballard has his hands full.

Titans vs. Jaguars: Titans

Are the Jaguars for real? (Annual question)

Eagles vs. Chiefs: Chiefs

Big Red is 8-3 against his former assistants.

Patriots vs. Saints: Patriots

I’m tempted to pick New Orleans here. Drew Brees is the only QB with a winning record against Brady and Belichick.

Bears vs. Buccaneers: Bears

Upset pick because the Bucs are a playoff team. I think.

Dolphins vs. Chargers: Chargers

The Chargers should’ve beaten the Broncos. That’ll haunt them when they finish 8-8.

Jets vs. Raiders: Raiders

The Raiders should dominate. I wouldn’t play Marshawn Lynch at all.

Cowboys vs. Broncos: Cowboys

Interested to see this Broncos defense against the Cowboys offense. Denver doesn’t have enough offensively to win this game.

Redskins vs. Rams: Redskins

Are the Rams for real? 40-plus points last week. I doubt it. The Colts were just that bad.

49ers vs. Seahawks: Seahawks

49ers GM John Lynch stockpiled info on the Seahawks when he was working with FOX. But it won’t matter here.

Packers vs. Falcons: Packers

This game should be awesome. Everyone else is taking the Falcons as they open their new stadium. I’ll take Aaron Rodgers.

Lions vs. Giants: Giants

Ehh, I don’t feel good about this pick. The Giants can’t be that bad right?
