It’s only Week 1 and I know it’s way too early but I can’t help but say it: The Kansas City Chiefs have two MVP candidates. Chiefs QB Alex Smith’s MVP odds (via Bovada) jumped up from 66/1 to 33/1 after last week’s four touchdown performance against the defending champs.
Meanwhile, Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt’s MVP odds were off the board before this but Bovada plugged him in next to Alex at 33/1.
Also with 33/1 MVP odds: Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott, Titans QB Marcus Mariota, Steelers WR Antonio Brown and Colts QB Andrew Luck.
A few more odds notes, which will anger you once you see Oakland has better odds:
- The Chiefs Super Bowl odds are 16/1 which eighth in the NFL. BOO!!!
- The Chiefs are 17/2 to win the AFC behind the Patriots, Steelers and Raiders.
- The Chiefs have the second best odds in the AFC West behind Oakland. The Chiefs are 2/1 while the Raiders are 7/4.
- Kareem Hunt tops rookie of the year odds at 7/2. Patrick Mahomes is 50/1.
