NFL roster cut weekend is here as the Kansas City Chiefs and every other team will be making their cuts to get down to 53 players by Saturday afternoon. The Chiefs have made a few moves already from cutting LB Josh Mauga and OL Jah Reid to trading DL David King to the Titans.
Our updates are below....
Roster cuts on Saturday
The Chiefs and every other team will be going from 90 to 53 players by Saturday afternoon so there will be a TON of players that are hitting the market. 1,184 players, to be exact (with up to 320 more coming back on practice squads). The Chiefs have to make all their cuts by Saturday, September 2, at 3 p.m. (Arrowhead Time or Central Time if you’re not in the know). That’s the key date and time we’re waiting on here.
Practice squad and waiver wire on Sunday
The Chiefs will also be establishing a 10-man practice squad on Sunday at 12 p.m. as well as poring over the NFL waiver wire as other players are released over the weekend. The waiver wire actually comes first on Sunday. It’s at 11 a.m. so watch out for that. The Chiefs positions of need could include running back after they lost Spencer Ware for the year in preseason so keep an eye out for any interesting backs cut.
What about cuts from other teams?
