Good news: Chiefs come out with few injuries in preseason finale

Perhaps the best news of the night for the Kansas City Chiefs - besides that young quarterback looking pretty good - is that there were no significant injuries to come out of the final preseason game. The Chiefs didn’t play their starters so we weren’t expecting any injuries to big name players anyway but it’s always good to hear that there wasn’t anything serious (at least that we know of yet).

Andy Reid mentioned these injuries from the game:

  • DB Leon McQuay has a stinger
  • OT Donald Hawkins has a concussion
  • LB Earl Okine came out and went back in but I’m not sure what his exact injury was. Reid said he’s fine though.

Sometimes these injuries in the final week end up landing a player on IR. We’ll see if that happens with any of these players as the Chiefs make their roster cuts by Saturday.

The Chiefs were unfortunately not so lucky during the other preseason games as they lost Spencer Ware to a season-ending injury last week.
