The Kansas City Chiefs have just one kicker in training camp and you kinda need a kicker. So if that guy is injured, you need to get another one ASAP. This scenario is taking place in St. Joe as Cairo Santos is not practicing with a groin injury and with that the Chiefs are working out a kicker.
With #Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos nursing a groin injury for the next week or so, KC is working out K John Lunsford today, sources say.

Santos has had an awesome camp. He was perfect on his field goal attempts until just a couple days ago. So, this is a short-term thing. Even if the Chiefs sign Lunsford, I’m not looking at this as a competition or anything. The Chiefs really like Santos.
As for the new kicker, Lunsford went to Liberty. He is the FCS leader with 12 50-plus yard field goals during his career. Big leg!
What would be way more fun is the Chiefs going into their first preseason game on Friday without a kicker. Put Dustin Colquitt back there. Heck, throw Travis Kelce back there. He’s one of those athletes that’s probably good at everything.
Who would your emergency kicker be? Anthony Sherman? I bet he’s got the powerful leg.
