The San Francisco 49ers released WR Bruce Ellington this week which put him onto the waiver wire. I thought the Kansas City Chiefs might try to claim him but the New York Jets ended up putting in a claim and getting him.
As it turns out, the Chiefs put in a claim as well but the Jets had waiver wire priority so they get him.

Ellington has 19 catches and seven rushes in his career. He played in 2014 and 2015 but was out all of 2016 with an injury. So we’re probably stretching it to say that he could come in here and make a big impact but apparently the Chiefs thought he had a shot if they put in a claim on him.
There is some potential with the Chiefs receivers but they are very young and none of them have really done a whole lot at the NFL level. I think Tyreek will change that this year and Chris Conley will have his best statistical season too. But until they do that this is a young group who could probably use some competition .
