Chiefs down two of their top three cornerbacks at Friday’s practice

The Kansas City Chiefs have a healthy Marcus Peters which in some ways is what really matters but they are without their next two top cornerbacks.

Terrance Mitchell left Thursday’s practice with a hamstring injury and was spotted at Friday’s camp practice working off to the site. Steven Nelson, the No. 2 corner, is also not at practice.

No word on where he is yet but without him that means the Chiefs are left with Phillip Gaines starting next to Peters.

Obviously we hope that these aren’t serious injuries. That Mitchell is working outside and off to the side at practice is a good sign that it’s not a serious injury. I’m not sure what the deal with Nelson is but you hope for the best.
