The Kansas City Chiefs finished up the preseason and for Chiefs fans it was a treat because we got to see rookie QB Patrick Mahomes playing the first half. I know, I know, Alex Smith is the starter and I think that’s the right choice. I’m choosing Alex over Mahomes to start the season, too.
That said ...
It was so much fun watching Mahomes play this preseason, especially in this last game where he threw a number of deep balls, particularly to Demarcus Robinson. The way he throws the ball seems so effortless. He had a couple of bad throws but got lucky there weren’t any interceptions.
The memorable play is the one where he was on the run and flung it 50 yards down the field. Here’s what they’re saying about that play and the rest of Mahomes’s night...
Mahomes looked outstanding last night.

Patrick Mahomes might be one of the 20 most exciting players in the NFL, and we might not see him all season. Kid has serious skills.

34/54
390 yds
4 TDs

Basically what he'd call a good half of football at Texas Tech
Patrick Mahomes' raw talent is otherworldly.

Patrick Mahomes is going to take over the AFC West. No way the #Chiefs can keep him on the bench all season. He's too special.

Look, Mahomes clearly has things to clean up. Plenty of things. But he makes plays that leave you speechless. Insane talent. #Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes did *that* AND the guy who tried to tackle him is hurt. I can't deal with this, you guys.

Chiefs lifehack: instead of watching Bray, start the game over for more Mahomes.
