The Kansas City Chiefs signed free agent DT Roy Miller this week and now the numbers are in on the contract. Per the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it’s a one-year deal that actually includes a little guaranteed money.
The #Chiefs agreed to terms with DT Roy Miller on a 1-year deal worth $1.4M base ($300K guaranteed) and up to $2.5M, source said.

The contract suggests to me that Miller, listed at 6’2 and 310 pounds, will make the team and be a contributor. I’m not sure it’s enough to guarantee him a spot but he’s going to be on my 53-man roster projection.
Miller has been a 4-3 nose tackle so is he a (backup) nose tackle here? A defensive end? I’ll be curious to see not only where he plays but also where on the depth chart he lands.
There’s also Chris Jones and his injury. He had surgery a few weeks ago on his knee. The Chiefs haven’t given a timetable on his return but it makes me wonder if that’s related to Miller’s signing.
Our own MNChiefsfan will be along soon with a review of Miller’s tape.
