Chiefs head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder all but confirmed the worst possible news regarding starting running back Spencer Ware Sunday morning:
Burkholder on Ware: He has a torn PCL. You can play with that but also has damage to LCL & staff thinks he prob needs season-ending surgery

The team emphasized that while surgery is likely, it still will explore every option:
Chiefs medical staff exhausting alternatives for Ware. Not having surgery yet, wants to get multiple opinions.

You have to feel for Ware here, especially as he was coming off the best season of his career in 2016.
Rookie Kareem Hunt now moves into the No. 1 position, with a mix of Charcandrick West and CJ Spiller behind him.
