As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for the season opener against the Patriots, I am thinking of the various scenarios where the Chiefs actually come out ahead in this game. Maybe it’s a big turnover or maybe it’s a Tyreek Hill return. As I’m imagining what a Chiefs win looks like, stats like this don’t help:
In his 30s, Tom Brady went 51-1 in regular season home games against the AFC. His only loss came with 1 seed already clinched (W17 of 2014).

That’s so ridiculous. The Chiefs are looking to be No. 2 on that list. A while back I saw some Patriots reporter say that the easiest game of the season for them would be the Chiefs game. I scoffed at first but ... defending champs, season opener at home, the Patriots are going to be as fired up as the Chiefs are.
I’m still waiting to find that perfect scenario where the Chiefs can pull it off. It exists.
