His elusiveness in the pocket is real, and he’s athletic enough to make teams pay with his legs when things break down. But the encouraging thing about his skill set is how Mahomes, without exception, is always looking to throw downfield, even when he’s running around.

“The thing I like about (Mahomes), he just has a good feel,” Green said. “You can tell some guys look natural. Other guys look labored trying to go through a progression, or if things break down in the pocket they get too mechanical.
