Where were you when your quarterback of the future took the field for the first time? I was sitting in the press box at Arrowhead Stadium and I nearly broke the no cheering rule when I saw KC Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes wind up on his first NFL play and sling it 40 yards downfield to Demarcus Robinson. I literally stood up in my seat. This was beautiful. Thank you, football gods.
Mahomes throws deep on his first attempt. Called back for holding. pic.twitter.com/BBLoWhnfLs

Except it was called back for holding on Isaiah Battle. But look at how much space Robinson had! The ball was even behind him a little bit. Mahomes put plenty of air under it. This marks the third straight Chiefs quarterback that has gone deep on the first play. Alex Smith and Tyler Bray did the same thing.
Let’s get to some reactions. This is how I felt:
I DO NOT CARE THAT THAT WAS HOLDING. I AM SO HYPE.

Mahomes deep shot on the first play. Gotta love it.

Wiped out by penalty, but still. FUN IN K.C.
And poor Isaiah Battle:
62, you're cut, bruh.
