Kansas City Chiefs cut two players, sign two receivers

The Kansas City Chiefs made a roster move on Monday with the release of two players and the signing of two more players. The Chiefs announced that TE Emanuel Byrd and WR Antwan Goodley were both released. The Chiefs said they signed WRs Corey Washington and Robert Wheelwright.

Signed: WR Corey Washington

Signed: WR Robert Wheelwright

Cut: TE Emanuel Byrd

Cut: WR Antwan Goodley

The chances of either contributing to the team this season are slim but stranger things have happened. Washington was a 2014 undrafted free agent and Wheelwright went undrafted this year. The Chiefs have room for perhaps one surprise receiver and so far this camp it appears that is Seantavious Jones, who has earned a few first team reps during camp. These two new receivers will have to out-impress Jones.
