Former Eagles D-line coach Jim Washburn: “I was the anti-Christ in Philadelphia” | ProFootballTalk

The release of Jason Babin by the Eagles was one of the precursors to Washburn’s firing as well.

“Reid told me, he said ‘I hate him’,” Washburn said of the conversation regarding Babin. “Because he’d just run his mouth and stuff. I don’t know. I loved him. He’s like my guy.”

Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid and where the Chiefs go from here | Arrowhead Pride

I’ve had a lot of people ask me some variation of this question over the course of the last few days. It’s actually gaining steam for some reason. The basic idea is people are concerned that Dorsey was pro-Mahomes and Andy Reid was anti-Mahomes, and now with Dorsey gone that leaves Reid hanging out to dry.

But a key component is gone: record-breaking quarterback Patrick Mahomes II, a two-time FBS total offense leader, who was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 10th pick of the NFL Draft in April.

Sanders Commings determined to pursue baseball dream | redandblack.com

His first six games with Danville didn’t go great, as he went just 2-for-13 before his release. But for those who doubt his ability to succeed in baseball after not playing competitively for nearly a decade, Commings has a simple message.

Chris Ballard Likes Secondary Depth Going Into Training Camp | Colts.com

It was the position group the Kansas City Chiefs attacked with fervor when Chris Ballard was hired there in 2013.

A major personnel overhaul in the Chiefs’ secondary occurred early in Ballard’s tenure alongside former Kansas City general manager John Dorsey.

The same thing has begun to take place in Indianapolis.

Which AFC West team is best set at quarterback for years to come? | ESPN

Adam Teicher, Kansas City Chiefs reporter: It’s great in Oakland, which just signed Carr to a new deal. It’s going to be difficult for the other AFC West teams to do better over the long term than the Raiders. The Broncos and Chiefs are in similar situations after drafting quarterbacks in the first round in the past couple of seasons, Denver with Lynch last year and Kansas City with Mahomes this year. Neither player is a sure thing, so the Broncos and Chiefs might have more work to do here.
