Every team passed on Dorial Green-Beckham, who is now a free agent

Dorial Green-Beckham was released last week by the Eagles and subjected to waivers. He passed through waivers unclaimed and is now an unrestricted free agent eligible to sign with any team.

The fact that no one claimed him, a 6’5, 237-pound athletic freak, isn’t that surprising I suppose. The Eagles need receiver help as much as anyone and they gave up on him in the middle of July. Players available in July don’t usually have a line of teams wanting to sign them.

The Chiefs likely have some good information here because it was former Chiefs OC Doug Pederson who released him in Philly. Perhaps there’s good reason the Chiefs aren’t pursuing him. I figured he was worth a flyer. Why not? I agree it’s unlikely he could crack the Chiefs roster.

There’s also the fact that the Chiefs don’t have a GM right now. That likely wouldn’t stop them from signing someone they wanted because Andy Reid can step in to make that decision. I don’t know if anyone has the title interim GM to make these decisions. We haven’t heard from Clark Hunt so we don’t know how that works until a GM is hired.
