Arrowheadlines: The 5 players the Kansas City Chiefs can’t afford to lose

Mellinger Minutes with Royals, Chiefs and nonsense | The Kansas City Star

Now, I happen to believe the Chiefs will and should promote Veach.

Much of that has to do with the awkward timing of Clark Hunt’s ruthless move. I believe the best outside candidates will be turned off, and that stability is at a premium. Andy Reid will and should always have a say in personnel matters, but it’s also important to have someone who knows his thinking and preferences.

Chiefs' Derrick Johnson shares photo of him getting engaged | The Kansas City Star

Yep, Johnson proposed to his girlfriend. Judging by the photo, she was surprised when he asked if she’d marry him while the couple was on a boat. She apparently said yes.

The Kansas City Chiefs 5 biggest Jenga pieces | Arrowhead Pride

I’m stealing an idea from Blogging The Boys who stole it from Dave Dameshek of NFL dot com. Who are the five biggest Jenga pieces on the Kansas City Chiefs roster? You’ve played Jenga before (I hope). You’re taking one block away at a time and hoping the whole thing doesn’t come tumbling down. Which Chiefs players would make the whole team come tumbling down? I think 3-4 of these are pretty obvious with some room for discussion on one or two of them.

C.J. Spiller, Captain Munnerlyn at Marquee, Wiz Khalifa, Leona Lewis, Jasmine Sanders, Phil Taylor at TAO | Las Vegas Informer

Sunday afternoon at Marquee Dayclub in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, NFL stars C.J. Spiller of the Kansas City Chiefs and Captain Munnerlyn of the Carolina Panthers took in the day at separate VIP cabanas with friends during Beatwave Sunday.

Rich Talavera, 70, breaks 'American Ninja Warrior' record | The Kansas City Star

“In KC, they love their Chiefs, their Royals, their barbecue and their Ninjas,” host (and former Oakland Raider) Akbar Gbajabiamila said as the hit NBC reality competition show kicked off its “Kansas City Qualifiers” episode. For the next two hours, with Union Station aglow in the background, Ninja Warrior hopefuls raced through obstacles for the chance to move on to the KC Finals round of competition.

Buffalo Bills fans should be rooting for Kansas City Chiefs' dysfunction

However, the team didn’t go into a Jets-style fire sale this past off-season; they kept veterans like Kyle Williams and Lorenzo Alexander. In addition, they brought Tyrod Taylor back and didn’t make any crazy trades involving LeSean McCoy or Charles Clay.

AFC West Q&A: Is the Derek Carr-Khalil Mack combo the best in the division? | ESPN

Kansas City has any number of defensive players to choose from. I’ll go with cornerback Marcus Peters. On offense, I’ll choose wide receiver Tyreek Hill over tight end Travis Kelce. Peters is perhaps the best playmaking corner in the NFL. Hill is a game-changer at wide receiver and running back and as a kick returner. Tough choice here, but I’ll go with the Oakland duo because Carr is a QB.
