Remember that time DeSean Jackson went to Kansas City Chiefs training camp? No? OK, neither do I but I do remember seeing this video clip.
DeSean Jackson’s older brother Byron was on the Chiefs practice squad in the 1990s which meant he went to training camp in River Falls. There was a documentary on Jackson that came out a few years ago which is where I think this video of him visiting Chiefs camp as a kid comes from.
I see a number of familiar faces there, including Dick Vermeil. Jackson even steps in and runs a route with the players. I’m not sure of the exact timing here but Jackson is obviously just a kid. Someone yelled something about “the next first round pick” when he was lining up for a route and, well, they were almost right. Jackson was a second round pick.
Random note, while I was googling around about this video I came across stories from 2014 when Jackson was cut and the Chiefs were rumored to be interested in him. That would’ve changed things, huh?
