Kansas City Chiefs have a position battle going at left guard

Were you wondering why the Kansas City Chiefs gave Bryan Witzmann a contract extension earlier this week? Perhaps it’s because they think he can play guard. Witzmann is in the middle of what looks to be a position battle at left guard.

The KC Star’s Terez Paylor reported that Witzmann and Zach Fulton were competing at left guard on the first day of camp.

“Witzmann earned first-string snaps throughout organized team activities, and it appears he’s getting a legitimate chance to compete with returning starter Zach Fulton for the job,” Terez wrote.

I want to know how Parker Ehinger will affect this position battle. Ehinger was the starter at left guard last year until he went down with an ACL injury. He started camp off on PUP but he will presumably come off at some point and be thrown in there.

Sounds like a healthy competition for the Chiefs final spot on the offensive line.
