Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith is collecting a bigger check than you are today. ESPN’s Field Yates reports that Alex has the biggest camp reporting bonus at $2 million and with the Chiefs reporting to camp today he will collect on it.

The Chiefs quarterbacks, injured players and rookies have been at training camp in St. Joe all week but on Thursday the rest of the team shows up to camp to prepare for the first practice on Friday.
This is a big bonus but Alex’s contract is still relatively small. His annual average of $17 million per year ranks 19th in the NFL which is about right for his skill set (I’d still say he’s better than the 19th best quarterback).
