I think something all Chiefs fans have been wondering was whether or not new Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach was in on the team’s decision to select their quarterback of the future in former Texas Tech standout Patrick Mahomes.
It turns out Veach couldn't have been any more clear on where he stands on that matter:
“Obviously, any time you make a move that bold—you’re going to move from 27 up to 10, giving up a [third-rounder] and [first-rounder], obviously everyone’s on board,” Veach said in his introductory presser, “from Mr. Hunt to coach (Reid) to our personnel staff.”
Veach even took it a step further.
“If you’re asking me personally what I thought of Patrick Mahomes? Yeah, I thought he was the best quarterback in the draft, absolutely. There was no doubt in my mind that was the right decision.”
So, there’s that.
