Will John Dorsey be a candidate in Carolina?

It’s been a few weeks since the Kansas City Chiefs fired GM John Dorsey so it’s no longer the most shocking firing in the NFL this year. The Panthers firing their GM, Dave Gettleman, is.

The Panthers are two years removed from a Super Bowl and we’re a little under two weeks from training camp. The timing is awful, sorta like the Chiefs.

So, will Dorsey end up in Carolina?

That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw the Panthers fired Gettleman. Dorsey seems to be respected around the league and did a terrific job in Kansas City. It would be hard to find a more qualified GM candidate that is available right now. (Hey, the Chiefs should hire that guy!)

Interestingly, Ron Rivera is an Andy Reid guy. It would be a little weird if Dorsey went to another Reid guy. Or maybe it wouldn’t be weird. I don’t know. Because we still don’t know why Dorsey was fired)
