The Kansas City Chiefs worst losses in the Andy Reid era

Let’s talk about the worst losses of the Andy Reid era for the Kansas City Chiefs (2013-16). Here’s how I would rank the losses that sucked the most:

(Also, I’m not counting the playoff losses. If you want to then they would be the first two on this list)

Bears 18 Chiefs 17

October 11, 2015

I still can’t believe this one. First, the Jamaal Charles ACL game. Second, the Chiefs let Jay Cutler drive down the field and beat them with seconds left. At Arrowhead. Jay Cutler!

Chiefs 14 Steelers 43

October 2, 2016

I haven’t seen the Chiefs lose a game quicker than this one. They got up 36-0 in this game. The Chiefs never had a shot.

Chiefs 20 Raiders 24

November 20, 2014

Eric Berry found out he had cancer after this game. Losing him was a blow and the Chiefs couldn’t stop the Raiders rushing attack. I have nightmares about Latavius Murray’s 90-yard touchdown run from this game. Also, the Raiders were 0-10 entering this game.

Titans 26 Chiefs 10

September 7, 2014

What a deflating loss. This was the season opener with lots of expectations after the Chiefs started off 9-0 and went to the playoffs in Andy Reid’s first season as head coach. This is the one year the Chiefs did not make the playoffs.

Chiefs 14 Cardinals 17

December 7, 2014

Travis Kelce did not fumble, refs.

Chargers 41 Chiefs 38

November 24, 2013

This is the year the Chiefs started 9-0 and this would be their second consecutive loss. The Chiefs drove down to take the lead with less than two minutes left. I thought they had the game won. And then the Chargers drove down the field and Philip Rivers threw a 26-yard touchdown pass with 24 seconds remaining. Brutal loss.

Honorary mention:

  • End zone interceptions against the Titans and Bucs (2016)
  • Every Broncos loss (2013-15)
  • OT loss to the Chargers on the last game of the season (2013)
