The Kansas City Chiefs have announced Brett Veach as their new GM. With a few weeks of Chiefs fans wondering what was going on, it’s good to have some official news straight from the team.
We will be waiting a couple more weeks until we actually get to know the new GM. Veach’s press conference isn’t scheduled until Monday, July 24, which is two weeks from today.
Why? Heck, I don’t know. My guess is that it’s vacation time around the NFL right and also that’s one day before the Chiefs report to St. Joe for training camp so I’m guessing that had something to do with it.
Veach is relatively unknown to Chiefs fans. We know him as one of the folks in the largely anonymous front office. We’ve read about him and have dubbed him the continuity candidate but other than that we don’t know much so I’m looking forward to hearing from him ... in two weeks.
